About Us

Mitch-Hill Dairy Farm officially began operating in July of 1995 when Lance and Gayle Mitchell purchased the Slye Farm in Pinegrove Township, Venango County. After graduating from Penn State in 1988 and starting careers in Maryland, the lure of extended family and the promise of a wonderful life for their growing family brought them home to Venango County.

Lance and Gayle feel blessed to have raised their three children, Chase, Caine, and Quinn on the farm. All three followed their parents to Penn State where they received degrees from the College of Agriculture.

Chase, his wife Virginia, and their two children Romy and Griffin now make their home in Kennett Square, PA. Quinn and Caine are still involved with Mitch-Hill Dairy in addition to their day jobs. Quinn uses her degree in Food Science to manage the creamery part of the operation and Caine manages the animal health and breeding program for the farm. Caine’s daughters Farryn and Freya enjoy helping feed the calves and kitties.

When the first Mitch-Hill Dairy milk was bottled in January of 2021, it was the realization of a decades-long dream. Making fresh, local, wholesome, dairy products available to their community has always been their goal.. The Mitchell family is thankful for all the good people that God has placed in their path to bring this vision to life. They are so excited to share their milk with you!
